There are a number of ways people walk their dog throughout its life:
i) Some people drive their dog to the local leash-free park and let it run around leash-free.
ii) Some people take their dog to the leash-free park but keep it on a leash.
iii) Some people walk their dog in the streets on a leash at the dog’s pace. Every time the dog stops to sniff something the patient dog owner lets it.
iv) Some people walk their dog in the streets on a leash and every time the dog stops to sniff, they pull on the leash to keep it walking. (Sometimes they jerk the leash, which can lead to problems.)
v) Some people walk their dog in the streets and have taught their dog to walk at the owner’s pace.
vi) Some people walk their dog in the streets off-leash.
vii) Some people jog and have their dog follow.
Walks in the park and in the street are important to have. Walks in the park are recommended because your off-leash dog will get to exercise properly, play and meet other dogs. Walks in the streets are important because if your dog becomes lost it can find its way home again. (Besides, not everyone has a park nearby, and a walk in the streets will still be appreciated.)
Whichever type of dog walker you will be, the following quiz should help.
